Some levels are pretty slow ,repetitive and tedious. Don’t expect to escape immediately or fast. Crafting is very tedious, you’ll have to be lucky scavenging items and then crafting something while the clock is ticking. In some levels, common areas are placed far between so you’ll need to walk a little and waste precious time or get punished by the guards. If you get caught you loose every crafted item in possession, so better stash your stuff. It’s pretty unfair and punishing at times. Tutorials are not good enough, many things are unexplained. Makes you waste your time on many occasions. The idea that stuck with me while playing, is that The Escapists 2 is a puzzle game, where there’s no real right or wrong answer. It becomes very boring, repetitive, tedious.

I just did not find the way they "modernized" the game a good selling point, In fact it just screamed cheap modern remake more than anything, But I know plenty of people like the Escapists 2, So I have to give them credit where credit is due. A sequel was really unnecessary, And more likely, A cry for money. And the character customization was great, It was simple but effective. One of the main things that drew me in to the original was it's art style, It was really nice having an 8-bit protagonist again, In a Zelda style adventure.

I don't know if it is just me but it needs to be fixed. This game is really fun and I really like it but there is something wrong. What? It should not be doing this it has done it three times and it was perfectly fine yesterday. Then multiple times recently I have just been playing and then a error has occurred message keeps popping up which boots me back to the Switch home menu. Then when I finally get onto the menu I select my game. First of all when ever I boot up the game I am forced to wait a really long time so a screen can pop up, the screen is a Internet connection thing I do not understand why it makes me wait that long just to log onto the Internet. The Switch version of this game is unacceptable, this game is really fun, when it actually decides to work. This applies to any keys stolen from desks in Escapists 2, too. This is because if a guard discovers his key has been taken, you’re in big trouble and will be taking a trip to solitary. Once you have the key, you’ll need to copy it using a Wad of Putty. These weapons are capable of one-shotting the guards for a quick and easy steal. To steal one in Escapists 2, knock out the guard, try using either a Cup of Molten Chocolate or Makeshift Stungun and then quickly pinch his key. Most of the time, a guards pocket is going to be your go-to method most of the time. Different areas require different types of keys, but to get any of them, you’re going to have to steal them. If you’re wanting to access specific areas, you’re going to need a key. Given that you’re a prison inmate in The Escapists 2, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that doors to important areas are typically locked.
